Karen Orona- Diversity Director 

The Diversity Director assists the entire Executive Board with promoting diversity and inclusion within all HSDA chapters. They promote racial, gender, economic, and geographic diversity within HSDA. 

Karen currently lives in Colorado and is a senior at Mountain View High School. She is involved with the Youth Caucus of America as well as the High School Democrats of Colorado. Last May, Karen was awarded the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony award from the University of Rochester for her dedication to social justice. This year, Karen will begin writing for Byline and will also work to help Joe Salazar become Attorney General of Colorado. During her free time, Karen volunteers with the Women’s Foundation of Northern Colorado as well as other hispanic organizations in the area, hikes, and writes. She is very passionate about giving people of color a voice in politics.
