A Case Against the Electoral College

In the United States, the president is not elected through a direct vote of the people. Instead, he or she is elected through the electoral college, a system made to protect the rights of smaller states. Whilst it’s done a decent job at this, it has done a poor job at protecting the democratic values of America. The electoral college has undermined the fundamentals of democracy again and again- It's time we talk about it.
