The younger generation is becoming significantly more pro-Palestinian following the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. And social media has played a large factor in why.
Read MoreThe Parents' Rights Movement is nothing short of a game-changer in today's social and political landscape. It's a rallying cry for asserting parental authority in the face of what many see as encroachments on traditional family values. Born out of concerns about government overreach, especially in matters concerning education, the movement has become a hot topic in the United States. It's sparked heated debates on issues like sex education, LGBTQ+ rights, and the role of the state in shaping children's upbringing. One of the greatest curiosities of the movement has been the temporary ceasefire it has created, where religious factions, who might normally be at odds, are banding together to safeguard parental rights. The parents' rights movement has emerged as a decisive force even in relatively moderate states like Virginia, where it played a pivotal role in Glenn Youngkin's surprising victory over the liberal former governor Terry McAuliffe. Even in areas known for their liberal leanings, such as Montgomery County, this movement has sparked significant divisions, underscoring its far-reaching impact across the political spectrum.
Read MoreWith the recent events in Gaza and the Biden’s administration’s response. Muslim and Arab voters are in large numbers turning away from Biden. There are 3.5 million Muslims live in the United States as of 2017 with at least 71% of Muslim Americans are registered to vote. A poll from Emgage, a Muslim-American Civic Engagement organization, conducted a study revealing only 5% of Muslim and Arab Americans say they plan to Vote for Biden in the 2024 presidential election, which is a significant decrease from the 86% who supported him after he won the presidency in 2020. This may have set Biden up for failure in many key swing states.

In a pivotal move, the Colorado Supreme Court excludes Donald Trump from the primary ballot, invoking the specter of January 6, 2021, and setting the stage for a profound reevaluation of the intersection between political power and democratic principles.
Read MoreAt this time, the U.S. finds itself divided once again over whether or not we should continue to help Ukraine with its war against Russia. President Biden recently sent a request to Congress for $106 billion in security funding, of which $61.4 billion is for Ukraine. In addition, The White House has warned Congress that they will run out of funding for weapons and other assistance by the end of the year. However, 45% of Americans say that the government is spending too much on Ukraine. Most of the opposition comes from registered Republicans. Republicans in the House of Representatives say they will support more aid for Ukraine, but only if it is tied to funding for border security, something that is a non-starter for Democrats. Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky visited Washington to appeal to Republicans and Democrats as to why they should continue to support funding for Ukraine. He also met with President Biden at The White House, after Biden invited him to visit the U.S. in order to make its case. Zelensky was also scheduled recently to address the Senate virtually, but he canceled at the last minute. Still, the Senate met to debate the funding bill. At the meeting tensions were high as Democrats were frustrated at the fact that Republicans will only support funding to Ukraine if it tied to border security funding. And as expected, a Senate procedural vote on the Ukraine funding bill failed by a vote of 49-51.
Read MoreI've always believed in the power of representation to break down misbeliefs. Unfortunately, Representative George Santos seems determined to do the opposite, becoming a source of concern for Latinx Americans, particularly those with Brazilian roots like myself. His actions perpetuate harmful stereotypes and contribute to a distorted image of Brazil in the United States. In the midst of George Santos' political antics, I can't help but wonder if there's a Portuguese translation for what others might call 'political idiocy.'
Read MoreOn November 7th the U.S. House of Representatives decided to censure Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a member of Congress. This move has generated controversy, as it is seen by critics as an attempt to stifle the voice of the American representative in Congress.
Tlaib, known for her support for Palestine, faced censure due to her remarks regarding the Israel Palestine conflict. The motion accused her of spreading "narratives" about the attack on Israel that occurred on October 7th, 2023 and advocating for the destruction of Israel.
Read MoreOn October 7th, 2023, amid the sacred Jewish Holiday of Simchat Torah, Hamas terrorists broke through the southern border of Israel, destroying various homes and towns, namely Kfar Aza and Kibbutz Be’eri, while also killing 1,200+ Israeli Civilians and kidnapping over 240 others. These terrorists committed brutal atrocities, such as rape, beheadings, infanticide, and burning civilians to death. Many victims were burned and mutilated so badly that identification was barely possible. These monstrosities, committed unprovoked, led to an outbreak of war between Israel’s military and Hamas, who fled back into Gaza with civilians and bodies, which were shown on video being abused and paraded around as civilians cheered. Israel’s Operation Iron Swords began soon after, with heavy bombardment and an eventual ground invasion of the Gaza strip by the IDF. As of yet, this operation has sadly killed over 11K Palestinians, as well as displaced 1.5 Million. It has also, however, helped free over 25 Israeli, American, and Thai hostages thus far and severely weakened Hamas’ military capabilities and infrastructure. While the death toll in Gaza is absolutely awful, the “anti-Israel” camp has been spreading a wide array of mis-informed opinions and lies about the situation, including the many outlined below. This publication, crafted with the input of the members of the Jewish Caucus dispels those lies and shows why most Democrats, including President Biden, have been, and are currently, very supportive of Israel, and why that does not go against your progressive values, but rather with it.
